Cut the power of addiction at the roots, never to rise again People become addicted – to alcohol, sex, drugs, gambling – often because they are seeking to escape from terrible inner pain. Addictions of many kinds are widespread today – especially to pornography and gambling, with the ease of access on the Internet; and many Christians are looking for help out of the grip of addiction. Key insights in this book include:
- Psychological, physiological and spiritual dynamics of addiction
- Addiction's imprisoning effects
- The journey to freedom
- How to develop a new – and true – personal identity.
Each chapter includes case studies, activities, reflections and a prayer.

Hope and practical help for people with dementia, their families, friends and carers In Insight into Dementia, Rosemary Hurtley explains what it is like to have dementia, examining its impact, outlining options and strategies for care – and much more. Suggested activities, reflections and prayers at the end of each chapter, along with poetry and biblical references throughout, help to aid reflection and will strengthen emotions and faith whilst offering hope to those with dementia and their carers. "… a practical, informative text reflecting contemporary knowledge and approaches to dementia care. It distinguishes itself … by its Christian spiritual context." – Clive Evers, Alzheimer's Society

C.H. Spurgeon - The People's Preacher
by Peter Morden 176-page full-colour paperback
Be inspired by a life aflame?
Spurgeon was known as the ‘Prince of Preachers’ and while it’s not hard to see why people should focus on this area of Spurgeon’s life and ministry, he wasn’t just a preacher. He was involved in an extraordinarily wide range of Christian social activity. Who was the real man behind the headlines? What was his prayer-life like and what was his attitude to the Bible? Did he have weaknesses and how were these overcome? As we read of the life of Spurgeon so also all these questions are explored in Peter Morden’s fascinating and informative book, illustrated in full colour and published alongside the film of the same name. To help the reader to discover more of what we can learn from Spurgeon and about him, and ultimately the Lord Jesus, there are sections at the end of each chapter to challenge and encourage.
