Grain House Trust
The Grain House Trust , which was set up as the legal entity for Harvest Church, is a Christian charity set up to reflect God’s love through a variety of community services and activities for all age and social groups, some of which are ministry focused and others commercial. The trust is totally financed by the direct giving of Harvest Church members and congregation, and apart from occasional gift days for specific purposes it has no other source of income. The key object of the Grain House Trust is to advance the Christian faith in accordance with the Statement of Beliefs appearing in the Schedule to the Memorandum of the Trust.
Trustees are proposed and elected by the members of the charity (who are the serving elders of Harvest Church) at any general meeting. Overall control of the charity rests with the trustee board, with a chairperson, treasurer and company secretary as officers. The trustees meet each month and delegate day-to-day organisational management of the Alton Maltings Centre to the Centre Manager through the Alton Maltings Centre Community Interest Company. The Trustee Board is independent from management and has responsibility for finance and legislative requirements in respect of Health & Safety, Risk Analysis, Child Protection etc. As members of Harvest Church, the trustees seek to ensure that the terms of the trust are fulfilled through the church elders and church members.
The current trustee/directors are: Jane Ballard, John Barrett, Terry Blandford and Chris Burrell (chair) Company Secretary: Ken Goodingham Treasurer: Steve Tudor-Price
1 The Grain House Trust was incorporated as a Private Limited Company (No. 4626536) on 31st December 2002 and registered as a charity in March 2003 (Charity Registration No. 1096632).
